SVIY Residential Complex, Dubno
Every childhood deserves a place to play
Even in residential developments with limited outdoor space, it is important to provide an area where children can play, stay active, explore the world, and make new friends.
For the SVIY Residential Complex in Dubno, Ukraine, URBAN Monkeys created a compact yet functional playground designed to become part of residents' everyday lives.
Small Space, Big Possibilities
A playground is much more than a collection of play equipment. It is a place for first friendships, new discoveries, movement, and imagination.
For the SVIY project, we focused on three key principles:
- Functionality — a variety of activities within a limited area.
- Accessibility — a dedicated play space right in the residential courtyard.
- Safety — thoughtful equipment placement and compliance with EN 1176 requirements.
A Space for Active Play
We selected equipment that supports different types of play:
- UNO-22 — a multifunctional play structure for climbing, exploring, and active play.
- SW2-20-C-L-G12 swing — for swinging and outdoor fun.
- Sports Complex 16 — for developing strength, coordination, and agility.
Each element serves a purpose, together creating a cohesive playground for children's everyday activities.
1. Childhood Close to Home
One of the key advantages of a playground within a residential complex is that children can enjoy outdoor activities without leaving their residential community.
It provides opportunities to:
-Make friends and socialize.
-Create their own games.
-Develop physical skills.
-Discover something new every day.
For residents, it adds convenience and contributes to a thoughtfully designed living environment.
The Result
SVIY Residential Complex gained a compact playground that makes efficient use of the available space while adding value to the residential environment.
The project demonstrates that even a small area can accommodate a diverse and engaging playground without compromising functionality or safety.
Because what matters most is not the size of a playground, but the opportunities it creates.
